专业概况

This major combines telecommunications history and theory with practical broadcast applications. Students acquire knowledge and understanding of the broadcast processes and on-air performing skills, utilizing facilities in both the campus radio station WSWI-AM and the Scripps Howard Video Production Complex.

Radio and Television majors learn how to produce and distribute audio and video programs, perform in front of a camera and microphone, and work behind the scenes in tying everything together. RTV graduates go on to become producers, directors and managers of the wide range of media pulsing through our world today.

Prepare yourself for the media industry with a Radio and Television (RTV) major. You will earn a foundation in media production, analysis, and theory, along with hands-on training in creating, editing and producing digital media. You will learn how to produce and distribute audio and video programs, and receive on-air experience. Join the ranks of RTV alumni as managers, directors, and producers.

Radio and television prepares students for a field which employs more than a quarter of a million full-time employees in the United States. The major covers radio and television production and performance as well as:
