专业概况

Dietetics is the science of managing food and nutrition to promote health. Students choosing this option will examine nutrition and its application to food and health. The didactic program in dietetics is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). ACEND is recognized as the accrediting agency for bachelor level dietetic programs in the United States.

To become a registered dietitian (R. D.), students must complete a minimum of a bachelor's degree from an ACEND accredited undergraduate program, complete an ACEND accredited supervised practice program, and complete a national exam. At the completion of our baccalaureate specialty in dietetics, students will be able to apply to a supervised practice program. A grade point average of 3.0 or higher is encouraged for application to supervised practice programs.
