The rapidly evolving digital communications industries require practitioners who are technologically literate, culturally sophisticated, innovative and resourceful. This degree introduces students to key debates around the role of social media in everyday life and focuses on developing innovative and analytical solutions to problems through the use of digital and social media. It also provides students with practical skills in social media management, user experience and user interface design, and digital marketing.

Taking a transdisciplinary approach, the Bachelor of Creative Intelligence and Innovation utilizes multiple perspectives from diverse fields, integrating a range of industry experiences, real-world projects and self-initiated proposals, equipping graduates to address the wicked problems, complex challenges and untapped opportunities in today's world.

The degree offers a comprehensive introduction to digital and social media as a social phenomenon and future career pathway. The degree is one of first media degrees in Australia to specifically focus on social media, is taught by content experts and industry practitioners, and is well-recognized within industry. Graduates are technologically literate, analytically sophisticated, innovative and resourceful.

By focusing on the high-level conceptual thinking and problem-solving practices that lead to the development of innovative, creative and entrepreneurial outcomes, students of the combined degree also gain leading edge capabilities that are highly valued in the globalised world, including dealing with critical and creative thinking, invention, complexity, innovation, future scenario building and entrepreneurship, and the ability to work on their own, across and between other disciplines. These creative intelligence competencies enable graduates to navigate across a rapidly accelerating world of change.

Course structure

Students must complete 240 credit points consisting of 24 credit points of communication core subjects, a 48-credit-point major and potential 48-credit-point second major (subject to application), 24 credit points of cross-disciplinary electives and a 96-credit-point creative intelligence and innovation core. Students who do not meet the requirements to study the second major complete elective subjects.

Career options include social media manager, UX/UI designer, digital campaign manager, prototype designer, digital entrepreneur, policy analyst, digital content producer, digital marketing specialist, communications officer.

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants must have completed an Australian Year 12 qualification or equivalent. Award of the full International Baccalaureate Diploma where the total aggregate score including bonus and penalty points meets entry standard. Academic IELTS: 6.5 overall with a writing score of 6.0; TOEFL (Internet-based): 79 - 93 overall, writing 21; PTE: 58-64; CAE: 176-184; AE5/AE6 (PASS): AE5.
