COURSE OVERVIEW

History and French, with a year abroad, explores history through subjects including women’s history and gender, modern British social history and the history of religion, health and medicine. You will also study the rich diversity of French language, culture, film, history, translation and language teaching.

Studying this four-year BA degree course opens up a range of exciting career opportunities by helping you develop skills, which are highly valued by employers.

94% of our History graduates are employed or in further study within six months after graduating (Destinations of Leavers in Higher Education 2015).

FRENCH AND HISTORY EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

92.3 per cent of Modern Languages Single and Joint Honours Graduates from Swansea University are in work and/or further study six months after graduation. (HESA Performance Indicator sourced from the DLHE survey 2013/14.)

Students on this course typically develop excellent oral and writing skills and you will also learn to develop your ideas in a wide range of formats, along with strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
