UMSL Cyber Start Grant for Fall 2020 - Under this scheme, F1 international students who are unable to report to campus this fall due to COVID19 are able to pay a reduced rate of tuition. • This will only be for the Fall 2020 semester as the students should be on campus in Spring 2021 paying regular rates. • Any UMSL Global scholarship awarded for Fall 2020 would be deferred until Spring 2021. • Students must be enrolled in a degree program conducive to online learning.

The Master of Accounting (MAcc) degree program prepares students to enter the accounting profession and advance their existing accounting careers. Designed to accommodate both undergraduate accounting majors and students with other undergraduate backgrounds, the program permits students to take a generalized course of study in accounting or a specialized course of study in income taxation.

The MAcc program typically requires 48 credit hours. However, students who are recent undergraduate accounting graduates may require as few as 30 hours while those students with little or no previous business or accounting study may require as many as 69 credit hours. Of particular importance for those aspiring to a position in public accounting is the 1999 State of Missouri law that requires 150 hours of college study for eligibility to sit for the Certified Public Accounting (CPA) Examination.

The degree requires at least one research course, at least one accounting seminar which is related to the research course, two graduate-level accounting electives, one additional accounting course, and at least two additional graduate-level non-accounting electives.
