UMSL Cyber Start Grant for Fall 2020 - Under this scheme, F1 international students who are unable to report to campus this fall due to COVID19 are able to pay a reduced rate of tuition. • This will only be for the Fall 2020 semester as the students should be on campus in Spring 2021 paying regular rates. • Any UMSL Global scholarship awarded for Fall 2020 would be deferred until Spring 2021. • Students must be enrolled in a degree program conducive to online learning.

Campus-based program with field and practicum experiences in high school settings culminating in Missouri teacher certification

A person who enjoys chemistry and likes to work with young people should consider a career as a chemistry teacher. To prepare, you would take most of the first chemistry, physics, and mathematics courses that a chemistry major would take, and then apply them to earn a either a Bachelor of Science in Education or a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Chemistry with Master’s level licensure from the College of Education. In either case, a program of graduated preparation courses will prepare you for a career in the classroom. The Chemistry Department provides excellent facilities including research and teaching laboratories and a large array of supporting modern research instrumentation. Area schools and organizations such as the Saint Louis Science Center offer excellent opportunities for working with students while learning to teach.

B.S. Ed. in Secondary Education with Emphasis in Chemistry

The B.S. Ed. is a professional education degree designed for students who wish to pursue a teaching career in secondary schools. Much of the discipline-specific coursework parallels the B.A. or B.S. degree in the discipline; however, the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) requires specific coursework for teacher certification. Therefore, students interested in the B.S. Ed. should contact the advising office (OASIS) in the College of Education for discipline-specific requirements. Note: To obtain teaching certification, DESE requires a 3.0 GPA in the discipline and professional education coursework, as well as a 2.75 GPA overall.

为来自中国的学生设计 Official transcripts: Students in their last year of high school should submit transcripts for all years completed thus far. Students who have completed high school must submit final transcripts and degree certificates or exam results. Students who have studied at a college or university must submit university transcripts to date. If you have completed more than 24 credit hours at a university, you do not need to submit high school transcripts. Transcripts are required from all high schools or universities attended. Proof of English proficiency: Minimum requirements are 61 TOEFL, 5.5 IELTS, or 44 PTE-A, 85-90 Duolingo.
