The Master of Science in Taxation program is geared to meet the increasing complexity of the accounting field and its critical impact on the effective management of business, financial, industrial, governmental and nonprofit organizations.

The program provides a framework of conceptual, technical, and professional knowledge that helps students develop the expertise needed to examine and understand many aspects of the tax structure. Through an integrated curriculum with emphasis on tax concepts, substantive knowledge of federal and state taxation, tax research, communication skills, and tax planning, students will develop an ability to identify and solve tax problems.

Students who wish to be licensed as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in New York State are required to have completed a 150-credit hour program. The M.S. in Taxation degree is recognized and registered by the New York State Education Department as satisfying the 150-credit hour requirement and also as qualification for a one-year work experience requirement relating to CPA licensure.

Time to Degree

The M.S. in Taxation is a 30-credit program. With classes offered over three semesters each year, a full-time student may be able to complete the program in one year.

为来自中国的学生设计 Admission to the College is based on an earned bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): A minimum score of 550 on the paper version, 213 on the computer version or an 80 on the Internet version is required. A score of 6.5 (IELTS) is required. iTEP score: Score of 4.0, Step EIKEN test: Grade 1.
