专业概况

在这里学什么？ Our BSc Zoology with Industrial/Professional Experience course will enable you to gain experience of the workplace on a year-long placement during your degree, making you more attractive to potential employers after graduation.This course will help you to understand the behaviour, physiology, conservation, ecology and evolution of animals. Zoologists use a wide range of approaches to do this, from applying genetic techniques to observing animal behaviour to using quantitative statistics to answer cutting-edge questions about the natural world. As such, you will study fundamental concepts from a range of disciplines in your first year before going on to study more specialised zoology topics in your second and final years.Field studies form an important part of our teaching and you will attend two field courses - one in the first year and one in the second year - including the possibility of visiting South Africa. In Year 3, you will have the opportunity to go on a placement with one of our trusted partner organisations in the UK or abroad. Alternatively, you can choose to arrange your own placement (subject to approval from the School of Biological Sciences).Placements range from research project work to roles in education, the biotechnology industry and science communication.Our course has Advanced Accreditation from the Royal Society of Biology , which recognises academic excellence in the biosciences and highlights degrees that educate the research and development leaders and innovators of the future.

Art or Fine Art A-levels are particularly welcomed; however, please note that applicants with three arts-based subjects (for example, Art, Graphics and 3D Design,?or Art, Photography and Design and Technology), or a BTEC Extended Diploma in Art and Design on its own will not be considered as meeting our entry requirements.We do not require a pass in the Science Practical Assessment.Typical Contextual Offer: AABA mixture of science or maths and humanities or arts subjects is preferred, but not essential.
