COURSE OVERVIEW

English Language with a foundation year, explores how language works, and how societies communicate.

The foundation year gives you an exciting introduction to higher education, exploring the humanities and social sciences before progressing to the full degree programme. It’s ideal if you need a little more support after further education or if you are returning to education after a gap.

Studying this four-year degree opens up a range of exciting career opportunities by helping you develop skills, which are highly valued by employers.

Almost 98% of English Language Single and Joint Honours Graduates from Swansea University are in work and/or further study six months after graduation (97.4% - HESA Performance Indicator sourced from the DLHE 2013/14) and our English Language degree will put you in a great position to succeed in a variety of careers.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE WITH A FOUNDATION YEAR EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

English at Swansea is ranked 2nd for graduate prospects in The Guardian Good University Guide 2016.

Students on this course typically develop excellent oral and writing skills and you will learn to present your ideas in a range of formats, along with strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
