专业概况

在这里学什么？

This new international two-year MA will provide you with the theoretical, empirical and linguistic knowledge needed to analyse Russian and Eurasian politics and also gives you the opportunity to spend a full year at HSE St Petersburg, carry out an internship, as well as conduct primary research for your Master’s thesis on the ground in Russia.

You will undertake rigorous research methods training, discipline-based and area studies training and intensive language tuition. You will learn to appraise political events and processes critically, solve problems of conflicting sources, use research resources and apply key theories, concepts and methodologies in political and social science, whilst drawing upon knowledge of the politics of the region.

Careers

This programme provides skills for careers in government service (UK and other EU states), international agencies and non-governmental organisations (NGOs), consultancy (economic, political risk, security, marketing), banking, financial services, law, media, teaching and the leisure industry, as well as to further study.

Employability

You will develop analytical and research skills relevant for employment or further study in both academic and non-academic contexts. The period of fieldwork, internship and the research conducted for the thesis will enhance your independent research capability. Russian language skills will be developed to allow you to converse and conduct research. The programme thus opens up a range of opportunities in both public and private sectors.

为来自中国的学生设计 Students need to have Bachelor's degree with a minimum overall average mark of 85% for courses requiring Upper second-class (2:1) degree. For courses requiring Lower second-class (2:2) degree, they need to have a minimum overall average mark of 80%. Some programmes / departments will require higher marks.
