Counselling Interventions

There is an increasing demand in the mental health and education fields for professionals who specialise in evidence-based methods for assessing, understanding and remediating the behavioural and other difficulties of individuals who, through a pre-existing disorder, are challenged by the regular demands of day-to-day life.

Students are taught evidence-based methods for building rapport with their clients and understanding the factors which cause those clients concern in their day-to-day lives. They are also taught a range of therapy strategies to guide future clients towards achieving their life goals and addressing the issues which cause them distress and/or impairments in everyday functioning.

The major comprises of six (6) subjects:

• Counselling Psychology (mandatory)
• Professional Practice Issues in Counselling, Psychology, and Criminology (mandatory)
• Psychopathology (mandatory)
• The Influence of Biology on Human Behaviour (mandatory)
• Understanding and Changing Human Behaviour (mandatory)

Plus one (1) subject from the following JOUR options:

• Autism Spectrum Disorders: Theories to Evidence-Based Educational Practice
• Interventions with People Experiencing Difficulties

Mode

On Campus and Remote

Due to current travel restrictions, this program will temporarily be delivered using a mixture of on-campus, remote and multi-modal classes to support and engage all students, from all parts of the world.

The January semester for this program will be delivered in a multi-modal format, with classes designed to support and engage all learners. Whether they’re on campus or abroad, all students will be able to access Bond’s exceptional and personalised learning experience through dynamic and interactive lectures, tutorials, seminars, workshops and lab sessions.
