Psychology is the study of mind and behaviour. It is one of the most interesting and challenging areas of scientific inquiry with the potential to benefit both individuals and society as a whole. Topics of study include learning, memory, cognition, perception, neuroscience, and developmental, forensic, social and abnormal psychology. You will gain an integrated and comprehensive knowledge in the main discipline areas of psychology and develop strong research, analytical and communication skills. This is a four-stage full-time program leading to the degree of Bachelor of Psychology (Honours). It is fully accredited and satisfies the minimum requirement for provisional registration. At the completion of this degree you can head out into the workforce or continue along the path to becoming a registered psychologist by completing an additional two-year professional Masters degree in Psychology. You can also choose to do further study and research such as Masters Degree (Research) or PhD.

Why choose this degree?

This degree enables you to concentrate on Psychology courses across the undergraduate degree with more Psychology courses required than other undergraduate Psychology pathways. No preference is given to any particular undergraduate program; entry is based solely on performance in undergraduate studies in Psychology.

Who should choose this degree?

Completion of a four-year undergraduate Psychology sequence is a minimum prerequisite for entry into Professional Master’s programs in Psychology that form the basis of professional training and registration as a Psychologist. The Honours program also provides an academic foundation for further study and research such as Master’s degree (Research) or PhD.

English Language requirements: IELTS Academic version only: 6.5 overall (min. 6.0 in each subtest); TOEFL Internet-based Test (iBT): 90 overall (min. 23 in writing, 22 in reading, listening and speaking); TOEFL Paper-based Test (PBT): 577 overall (min. 5.0 in TWE); Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: 64 overall (min. 54 in each subtest); UNSW Institute of Languages University English Entry Course (UEEC): Successful completion with a minimum overall grade of C+ and a minimum grade of C in the writing component; Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE): 176 overall (min.169 in each subtest); Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): 180 overall (min.180 in each subtest).
