This degree develops broad professional communication skills, teaching you to become an effective storyteller across a range of media platforms – from writing news articles to creating communication strategies. You are not only up skilled as a writer but also encouraged to become an influential and strategic communicator, able to tackle complex issues by drawing on your integrated practical and theoretical expertise. In addition to fundamental courses in media theory and practice, you will choose specialist electives from a range of communication, journalism and media courses, including public relations, writing for digital media, digital-media production and marketing. Graduates have expertise in a range of foundational communication skills and are able to contribute to, evaluate and intervene in emerging practices, enabling them to take leading roles in these rapidly changing industries.

English Language requirements: IELTS Academic version only: 6.5 overall (min. 6.0 in each subtest); TOEFL Internet-based Test (iBT): 90 overall (min. 23 in writing, 22 in reading, listening and speaking); TOEFL Paper-based Test (PBT): 577 overall (min. 5.0 in TWE); Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: 64 overall (min. 54 in each subtest); UNSW Institute of Languages University English Entry Course (UEEC): Successful completion with a minimum overall grade of C+ and a minimum grade of C in the writing component; Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE): 176 overall (min.169 in each subtest); Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): 180 overall (min.180 in each subtest).
