Course overview

This applied degree offers in-depth coverage of how psychology is relevant to areas that are critical to a functioning society. Course content focuses on three core areas (healthcare, education, and the workplace) but you will be exposed to a range of disciplines in which psychology is applied (including forensic settings, counselling, and politics).

You will have the opportunity to undertake research within an area of psychology that is of interest to you. For example, you can integrate the coursework to support your current area of expertise or use it as a platform to explore other related interests or career paths.

The degree is flexible and taught by researchers and practitioners in the field, exposing you to different perspectives in the area of applied psychology. Importantly, the course structure takes a blended-learning approach, combining face-to-face sessions with distance learning. Not only does this format allow you to study around work and family life, but it also offers the best of both worlds: a vibrant postgraduate community as well as the flexibility to learn in your own time.

Assessment

Assessments will take a range of forms and include a combination of essays, presentations, blogs, lab work, workshop delivery, exams, and a Master's-level research-based dissertation.

Job prospects

The course is designed to give you the skills needed to advance in your current career (through increased knowledge and research experience), act as a springboard for changing careers (with more focus on psychology), and/or prepare you for a career in research. The course does not confer Practitioner Psychologist status.

为来自中国的学生设计 Students need to have Bachelor's degree with 68% or above. It includes: East and West International Education (EWIE)/ Wiseway Global International Pre-Masters Programme at 60% or above; Dongfang International Centre for Education Exchange Top University Pre-Masters Programme at 60% or above. Applicants for the MBA should have 2 years work experience, although well qualified and motivated individuals without this will be considered. IELTS: 6.5 (no less than 5.5 in any band).
