专业概况

在这里学什么？

You will study a range of core compulsory modules in all years to give you a thorough grounding in international media and communications. You will also take additional compulsory or optional modules from within the school or faculty, with English language and literature students and film and television studies students having compulsory modules relevant to their specific areas of study.

A unique aspect of our degree programmers is the compulsory language component, where you will learn a new modern language – French, German, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin or Spanish. You will graduate with a high level of spoken and written fluency in your chosen language, improving not only your grasp of another language and culture, but also dramatically enhancing your employability in the globally competitive job market.

You may also apply for a range of summer internships within the Malaysian and international media and communication industry throughout your degree. This internship program me is facilitated by our staff’s range of industry connections as well as staff in our schools in the UK and China. You will also have the chance to apply for mobility exchanges to the UK or China Campuses in your second and third years of study.

Careers

An international communications degree is your passport to a variety of rewarding professions. Likely career fields include: the audio-visual, digital and print media industries; marketing; production; public relations; and research.

Career paths in these fields include advertising account executives, copywriters and creative roles, news editors, journalists and reporters.

Other career options include: arts or heritage administration and management; the civil service, diplomatic or embassy work and government service; non-governmental organizations, politics and think-tanks; and consultancy, human resources, management and recruitment within the international business environment.

Graduates with a passion for language can pursue interpreting, publishing and translation roles and others may continue their studies and pursue research and/or teaching.

English Language requirements: IELTS: 6.5 (no element below 6.0); TOEFL (iBT): 87 (minimum 20 in Speaking and 19 in all other elements); PTE (Academic) score of 62 (minimum 55); 1119 (GCE O Level): grade B; or GCSE O Level: grade C.
